This small family owned winery and vineyard concentrates on one thing only - the wine-and it is excellent They are now open 7 days a week 12-5 pm for the summer and we enjoyed a relaxed tasting the day we visited. We could choose from 2 different flights and taste inside or outside on the patio overlooking the vineyard. There are still some of the Italian varieties left - but they are going fast. Their dessert and port wines are excellent.

Turdo Vineyards and Winery is one of the best vineyards around. The vineyard is a quaint family owned winery offering a variety of wines. In addition to fabulous wine that always leaves you wanting more and more, the owners (especially their son Luca) are very knowledgeable and provide great insight on the various types of wines. The vineyard also offers other amazing items such as fresh figs, preserves, chocolates, etc. The owners are the most inviting and hospitable people you will meet, they make you feel welcomed and like you were part of the family. Both the red and white wines, including their desert and port wines are spectacular, and with the minimal sulfites used they leave you feeling great even the next day!! I can honestly say that they are the best Vineyard/Winery down there and even in all of NJ. You won't be disappointed!!!

A unique little winery behind the winemaker's home, right off the road to the Ferry.
They are welcoming and informative in the tasting room, and you get to try 5-7 of their wines and keep the souvenir glass for only $5.

As we pulled into the parking lot, my husband remarked that it appeared that we were going to someone's home...indeed, Sal and Sara receive their guests as if each one has been a family friend for years. The tasting was leisurely and informative. The wines are high quality and obviously produced with pride. We're anxious to visit again for some of the prize-winning varieties before they sell out...but with the Turdos' growing reputation, this may be impossible!

Impeccable Wines & Fabulous Italian Hospitality!!

My wife and I have visited Turdo Vineyard and Winery for the past six years, each year the experience exceeds expectations!! How fortunate we are to have such warm and sincere people such as Sal and Sara guide us through their vineyard and share their superb wines with us!! They are what Italian hospitality is all about; you feel the warmth and sincerity the moment you meet them, as well as through the entire tasting room experience. You immediately feel part of their wine making family.

Truly we are blessed to have Turdo Vineyard and Winery, this touch of Italy so close and accessible to us. While both their French and Italian varieties are impressively constructed, I am partial to their Italian wines, complex, balance, and fairly priced, a treasure to be explored! Painstakingly prepared to perfection, their craft is visibly a labor of love.

Over the years we have spent time with Sal and Sara during our visits to their Vineyard and Winery, it is all about experience! The warmth you experience when you meet them, the feeling you experience as you imagine being in Tuscany (although never having left New Jersey), and the craftsmanship in wine making that only comes from years of experience and love of the craft of wine making! It is all about craftsmanship and impeccable wine!

Turdo Vineyard and Winery is family owned and operated, the experience and fine wine you enjoy upon your visit can not be matched by others in Cape May. When we hear of someone traveling to Cape May, immediately we recommend Turdo Vineyard and Winery!!

I visited Turdo vineyards the day they opened their tasting room. I couldn't have had a warmer welcome. I was hooked and have been going there ever since. I love the wines and the vineyard is beautiful. They have places to sit and enjoy the fruits of their labor. If you are in Cape May you have to visit the vineyard.

I have gone to many taste testings and tried all kinds of varieties of supposedly "award-winning" wines. I don't think any come close to what I found at Turdo. We went on a Saturday afternoon in September and were the only ones there when we first arrived. By the time we left the place was packed - obviously the secret is out! Actually I think it has been out for a while as they were sold out of all of the best reds which are released in May. I tried 7 wines and liked them all. I have never been to a wine-tasting in which I liked more than 2 out of 6. Considering I could not even try the popular sold-out red ones, I think that says it all!

Besides the wines themselves, the vineyard is a great place to visit. The owner's son poured our wines and was very knowledgeable and helpful. This is his dad's retirement. It is evident this is a labor of love! I will be back soon!

Turdo is a wonderful boutique style winery run by a warm and hospitable family. The winery sits on a 5 acre estate and produces 1,000 cases per year. The wines are well constructed and consist of mainly French and Italian varieties. The wines are reasonably priced, $15 - $25, and many popular varieties are pre-sold prior to release. I worked in the industry in South Eastern PA and consider Turdo to be one of the finest regional producers.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon wandering the vineyard, tasting the great Turdo wine selection, and learning about the wine making process. I highly recommend a visit, and leave time to stay a while and enjoy the fine wine selection.

My husband and i have been going to Turdos for about 3 years now and its by far the best place to stop by in Cape May they are the friendlyest people you can meet and the best service in Winerys. My husband and i have stopped at a couple places in Cape May and we were not as happy with the service and the wine as we are with Turdos. So please if you are in Cape May Stop in Turdo Vineyards you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I stopped here on our way into Cape May on a weekday afternoon. They are open daily 12-5, and the young man who offered our wine tasting ($5 for six wines and a complimentary glass) was generous and knowledgeable. His family has been running the winery (and growing all grapes in Cape May) for about 11 years, and selling wines for about 8 years. They are award winners in several international wine competitions.

We purchased a bottle of the Chardonnay Riserva, the Moscato dessert white wine, and Persara red wine blend. He showed us a list of their Italian reds that had sold out early in the season! So if you like them, you're to call them and let them know in May that you want those wines. A good problem to have. :)

The selections and the way you are treated when you arrive on the property are welcoming. I could not make up my mind on what to purchase. Many more trips will be in the horizon. The merlot and the moscot we did take home are out of this world.

My husband and I had a lovely stop at Turdo. It's a small vineyard that you could easily miss without looking. First, the wines really are very good - you don't really expect this in New Jersey. What sets them apart is that they grow Italian wines (along with cabernets, merlots, etc.) and they really know how to grow them. It's a family owned and operated vineyard and you can tell it is a labor of love. We were greeted by the son of the owner. In addition to really knowing his wines, he was extremely pleasant and went out of his way to recommend several restraurants and show us where to find them on a map. He also told us that they are putting in a patio where people will be able to stay and have a glass of wine - hopefully the next time we visit that will be complete.

The barbara is hands down the best around.
Bring your thirst.
The ,cosy, tasting room is a perfect activity for a rainy day but the wine is always top notch.

Directions
They're located 5 minutes (drive) from the center of Cape May. To get there, just drive to the intersection of Beach and Broadway and make the right-hand turn onto Broadway. Continue going straight for approximately 2 miles over the arched bridge. After the bridge make a left-hand turn at the first traffic signal and continue going straight - you'll see a shopping mall on your right-hand side. Make a left hand turn at the intersection when you see the McDonalds and gas station. Tucked away on the bend of that road you'll see the vineyard. If you see the vines and you're still driving you must have passed the entrance- there's alway an open flag hanging during hours of operation.
